DAVENPORT – Individuals who work, minister or volunteer for their parish or school are invited to participate in Diocesan Support Day on April 19 at the St. Vincent Center (diocesan headquarters). You may also participate off-site via a webinar.
General topics in finance and human resources will be covered. In finance, you’ll learn more about parish accounting, QuickBooks, internal controls and payroll. In human resources, you’ll cover employment law, job descriptions, employee performance reviews, employee personnel files, staff handbook, Internet access, human resources internal audit, administration of health and 401K plans, human resources current events, hiring/interviewing, background checks and exit interviews.
“The purpose of the day is to provide information to the participants according to what they request they need and what the chancery staff identifies as their needs in working with parishes, schools and other entities. It also provides an opportunity to network,” said Deacon David Montgomery, diocesan communications director.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., followed by welcome and prayer. Finance topics will be presented from 9 a.m. to noon. Lunch will be served in the dining room from 12:15-1 p.m. and human resources topics will be presented from 1-3 p.m. An optional tour is available afterwards.
To register for the onsite presentations, send an email to Barb Butterworth at butterworth@davenportdiocese.org or call her at (563) 324-1911.
