Sister Virginia Healy (Richardette), BVM

Sister Virginia Healy (Richardette), BVM, educator and administrator, died Feb. 23 at Marian Hall in Dubuque. She was 97.
She was born in Chicago and entered the Sisters of Charity BVM congregation on Sept. 8, 1934, from St. Margaret Mary Parish, Chicago.  She professed first vows on March 19, 1937, and final vows on Aug. 15, 1942.
In the Diocese of Davenport, Sr. Healy taught at Immaculate Conception Academy in Davenport from 1948–51. In Clinton, she taught at St. Mary High School from 1952–54 and was teacher and superior/principal at Our Lady of Angels from 1954–66. She taught elementary and secondary school and was administrator in Chicago and Rock Island, Ill.; Portland, Ore.; and St. Paul, Minn. She was director of housing at Mundelein College from 1976–78 and attendance officer at The Immaculata High School from 1978–81, both in Chicago.
Her funeral was celebrated Feb. 28 in Dubuque. Burial is in the Mount Carmel cemetery.
