Webinar on stewardship, evangelization open to all

Facebooktwittermail

A free webinar on stewardship and evangelization is open to interested individuals and all who are involved in these topics in parishes and schools in the Diocese of Davenport. The webinar will be shown twice Dec. 13, from 1-2 p.m. and 6-7 p.m.

The Office of Faith Formation has purchased a diocesan-wide registration from Our Sunday Visitor that allows any of the parishes or school staff and volunteers to attend this webinar at no cost, said Mary Wieser, director of faith formation.

Registration is unlimited and attendees may participate from their own personal computers or at the office, she noted.

Lorene Duquin, a national speaker on stewardship and evangelization, will present the webinar. Wieser said several people in the diocese have heard Duquin speak and the topic should be of interest to all.

The webinar is expected to help parishes embark on a path that leads to attracting new parishioners, welcoming new Catholics, bringing back inactive Catholics, inviting existing Catholics to new levels of conversation and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the community.

“We looked at the cost and a diocesan rate was a bargain. Anyone can view this webinar,” Wieser said. She has received calls from parishes and from individuals across the diocese who are not on stewardship or evangelization teams but are interested in participating in the webinar.

To participate, please register at http://www.formstack.com/forms/osvoffertory-diocesanwide_webinar_registration_form. Once registration is processed, a link will be sent to you. Registration will be taken until 12:30 p.m. Dec. 13 for either session at the link above.

Teachers and catechists can earn hours toward their certification through this webinar or viewing a copy of it on DVD in the future.
