To commemorate the end of the Iraq War, we should ring the church bells all across the Diocese of Davenport on Dec. 31. This will signal a minute of silent prayer for those who lost their lives, those wounded physically and emotionally, and express gratitude for all those who served their country in a distinguished manner.
It will be time to pay tribute to them and praise God that our troops have returned home to their own country.
