Catholics are invited to learn about the Mass responses in the new Roman Missal at a mini-retreat, featuring DVDs and discussion, on the scriptural basis of the Mass. The retreat will take place Sept. 16-17 in Hills and Lone Tree.
The retreat will begin in the basement hall of St. Joseph Church in Hills Friday, Sept. 16, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Mass will precede the retreat at 5:30 p.m., and soup and sandwiches will follow. DVDs are from Edward Sri’s “A Biblical Walk Through the Mass.”
The mini-retreat continues Saturday, Sept. 17, at St. Mary’s basement hall in Lone Tree. Coffee cake and coffee will be served and followed by the conference from 9-11:30 a.m.
For those who cannot come to both sessions, a summary will be available to take home. There also will be an Oct. 8 session from 9-11:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s basement in Lone Tree for Catholics who cannot come Sept. 17.
There is no charge for parishioners of St. Mary’s in Lone Tree, St. Mary’s in Nichols or St. Joseph’s in Hills. Non-parishioners may attend, but an RSVP is requested, and a $5 contribution for extra food is needed for each session attended. RSVP by calling (319) 679-2271.
