Catholics benefit from IlaMae Hanisch’s leadership

What a delight to read on the front page of The Catholic Messenger (8-25-11) the article about IlaMae Hanisch and the lay ecclesial ministry.

Many of us at Sacred Heart Parish in Newton consider her our very own because she was our faith formation director before this idea had been widely established. It has been a pleasure to watch her develop this important ministry in her always exceptional way. I feel confident those who have participated in the Ministry Formation Program as well as the other programs she directs will attest to that.

It was very fitting that she received an invitation to the symposium at St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn. I am certain those attending the MFP classes, which start in September, will be the beneficiaries of her attendance. I believe she will find a way for all the rest of us to benefit also.
