Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Hubert G. Haut, 88, a resident of Davenport will be Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Davenport.

Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, where military graveside honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #26. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be offered at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Bert passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Kahl Home after an extended illness.

Hubert Gerard Haut was born June 22, 1923 in Davenport, the son of John and Katherine (Daleiden) Haut. He proudly served our country during WWII in the U.S. Air Force. He was united in marriage to Betty Brammann September 8, 1947. She preceded him in death March 30, 2004.

Bert had worked as a switchman with the former D.R.I. Line for 38 years, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking, creating everything from frames to spinning wheels.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Marian and Rick Nylin, and Eric and Mary Haut, all of Davenport, Matthew and Sherry Haut, of Arkansas; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, two sisters and two brothers.
