Bishop Martin Amos reminds women of the Davenport Diocese that the collection for the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women will be held the weekend of Aug. 20-21.
Dues of $2 annually for each woman in the parish provide financial support for the council. In accordance with the long tradition of the diocese, every Catholic woman in the diocese is a member of the DCCW.
Bishop Amos says the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women is a very important part of the diocese. The National Council of Catholic Women acts through its affiliated organizations to support, empower and educate all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership and service. NCCW programs respond with Gospel values to the needs of the Church and society in the modern world.
