Janet M. Ruhde, 70, of Brimfield, Illinois passed away Friday, July 1, 2011, at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois. 

She was born November 9, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa a daughter of William and Ruth Mary Ann Willits Ruhde.  Janet graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy  in 1958 and from St. Ambrose College – School of Nursing in 1962.

Janet was a registered nurse, employed by Methodist College of Nursing as a teacher until her retirement.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brimfield.

Surviving are two sisters, Sister Mary Ann Ruhde, BVM of Davenport, and Patricia M. (Fabian) Skretta of Minden, Iowa; a lifelong friend, Sister Louise Levandowski, BVM of Davenport; two nieces; four nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 14, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brimfield.  Fr. John Verrier will officiate.  Cremation rites are accorded.  There will be a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Davenport at a later date.  Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport.  The Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home will assist the family in Davenport.
