SINSINAWA, Wis. — Sister Laura Goedken, OP, director of development for the Diocese of Davenport, will celebrate her 50th anniversary this summer as a member of the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters.
A Mass will be held July 17 in Queen of the Rosary Chapel at Sinsinawa Mound for Sr. Goedken and 20 other Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters celebrating 50-year jubilees.
Sr. Goedken’s home parish is Sacred Heart in Monticello. During her ministry she taught in Minnesota, served as a principal in Wyoming and as an associate principal in Wisconsin. She served the Sinsinawa Dominicans’ congregation as director of development and communication at the motherhouse. She then served as director of stewardship and development in the Diocese of Monterey, Calif.
In the Davenport Diocese, Sr. Goedken ministered as director of evangelization and stewardship for the Iowa City parishes from 2004-2008. She has served as the diocese’s development director since 2008.
