Students spruce up Davenport

DAVENPORT — The Go Green enrichment group at All Saints Catholic School led the 2011 “Get Your Spring On!” campus-wide clean up April 5.

All Saints Catholic School has recently adopted the entire block on the corner of Locust Street and Marquette Street through the Scott County Waste Commission’s “Make It Yours!” program.

Students raked leaves and yard debris, and picked up trash throughout the All Saints campus, the Holy Family Church campus, the Bell Animal Hospital campus and the St. Ambrose student parking lot. More than 150 students and staff participated in this event, with students ranging from second through eighth grades.

Students were outfitted by Scott County Waste Commission’s borrowed yellow vests, gloves, trash bags and litter tongs to attack this clean up efficiently. The students of All Saints Catholic School and staff, through the “Make It Yours!” program, have pledged to clean up the adopted block at least twice a year.
