Memorial services to celebrate the life of Jerry J. Kinser, 75, a resident of Davenport, Iowa will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. 

His family will greet friends Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, Davenport, Iowa.  Honoring Jerry’s wishes cremation rites were accorded and inurnment will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.  Mr. Kinser died Friday, February 18, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport.

Jerry James Kinser was born August 18, 1935 in Fairfield, Iowa, a son of Eli and Hazel (Taylor) Kinser.  Jerry was a graduate of St. Ambrose College.  He was united in marriage to Susan Mesmer, April 25, 1964 at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Jerry had been a systems analyst at the former J.I. Case, and later at Stanrick Pinnacle, retiring in 1999.

Memorials can be made to the office of Dr. Conway Chin for the purchase of a chair scale.

Survivors include his loving wife, Susan and their children, four daughters; Lisa (James) Jansen, Rock Island, Krystal Kinser, Kinina Kinser, and Heather Kinser, all of Davenport; three sons, James (Angela) Kinser, Prior Lake, MN, Brian (Marsha) Kinser, Iowa City, and Garth Kinser, Davenport; one grandchild, Emily Jansen; one brother, Larry (Donna) Kinser of Florida; He was preceded in death by his parents.  May they rest in peace.

 Jerry’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Conway Chin, Dr. Humphrey Wong, Dr. G. Ahuja, Dr. Brian Gross, Dr. Ann O’Donnell, Dr. M. Al Sheikha, pulmonary nurse practitioner, Heather Dunn, the nurses and staff  of the Pulmonary Unit at Genesis West and the Select Specialty Hospital nurses and the respiratory therapy staff. A special thank you to his caregiver, Rita LeBarge for all the care and compassion shown to Jerry.
