Funeral services to celebrate the life of Patricia R. Griffin, 81, a resident of Davenport, were Dec. 29, 2010 at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.
Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park. Patricia died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, West Central Park Campus.
Patricia Rose Rodriguez was born on April 6, 1929 in Bettendorf, a daughter of Albert and Muggie (Adams) Rodriguez. She married to Lawrence Douglas. He preceded her in death in 1956. She later married Wilfred J. Griffin on April 7, 1979. Wilfred passed in 1990.
Patricia was employed through the Handicapped Development Center for over 36 years. She retired in April of 1993 as a production supervisor. She was member of the Women’s Auxiliary and the Friendly House.
Patricia was a very giving, intelligent, and caring person. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Anytime someone was in need of a helping hand, you could count on her. She was known for her tough love, but was also very nurturing. Patricia also loved to fish and take long car rides with her granddaughter, Alicia, and watch Western movies.

She is survived by her sons, Calvin Douglas, Davenport and Daniel (Gail) Douglas, Rock Island; a granddaughter, Alicia Douglas, Eldridge; a great-grandson, Devlon Douglas; brothers, Albert Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez, Ernest Rodriguez; and a daughter-in-law, Linda Garrett, Eldridge.
