Bettendorf — Waiting with Mary” is the title of a two-part presentation Nov. 4 and 11 at St. John Vianney Parish in Bettendorf as part of its speaker series. Corinne Winter, a professor at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, will give both presentations at 7 p.m. in St. John Vianney’s chapel. 

RETREATS

Davenport — St. Anthony Parish will hold its parish mission, “A Place at the Table,” Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 at 6:30 p.m. each night. Participants will explore how they are part of a reconciling community of healing and hope. Presenter is Father Joe Nassal, CPPS.

Columbus Junction – St. Joseph Parish will hold its Harvest Breakfast on Sunday, Nov. 7, from 7-11 a.m.  It will be held at the Columbus Junction Senior Center on Walnut Street. Sausage, gravy and biscuits, breakfast burritos, egg casseroles, ham, scrambled eggs, fruit cups, milk, juice and coffee and more will be served. The cost is $5.50 for adults and $3.50 for children ages 5-12. There will also be a country store and bake sale.

Davenport — A feast day Mass for St. Martin de Porres will be held Nov. 3 at Sacred Heart Cathedral at 5:30 p.m. A pulled pork dinner will be served in the rectory following the Mass. Davenport – St. Mary Church’s 38th annual bazaar will take place Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Nov. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. On Nov. 13, a luncheon will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $6 per person and free for children younger than 12. On Nov. 14, an authentic Mexican breakfast will be served for $6 per person. Both days will feature a bake sale, Christmas booth, knitting and crocheting booth, sewing booth, a trash and treasure booth and raffles. 

Davenport — A trivia night will take place at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1111 W. 35th St., Nov. 5. Food and beverages will be available beginning at 6 p.m., and the game begins at 7 p.m. Cost is $10 per person; there may be up to eight people on a team. Prizes will be awarded. Themed baskets will be for sale, and there will be a 50/50 drawing. Proceeds benefit the Supplemental Emergency Assistance Program. To reserve a table, e-mail generboyd@mac.com.

Davenport — Our Lady of Victory Parish’s Christmas Carousel Bazaar will take place Nov. 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Featured will be handmade crafts, Christmas ornaments, baskets, a children’s room, pictures, linens, woods, florals, doll clothes, toys, fall items, a candy shop, bake shop and American Doll raffle. Breakfast and lunch will be served. A raffle offers cash prizes of $1,000, $500, $200 and $100.

Iowa City — Knights of Columbus will offer dinners from 5-7 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month through November at the KC Family Center, 4776 American Legion Road. For more information, e-mail kofc842@gmail.com or call (319) 341-9097. Carryouts are available.

Keokuk — Church of All Saints’ fall festival and bazaar will take place on Sunday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Keokuk Catholic Schools, 2981 Plank Road. Plans include an antique and heirloom silent auction, tables full of collectibles, religious items, homemade baked goods, candy, crafts and Christmas items. Also included will be a “this and that” corner, almost-new items, Christmas cookie orders, frozen fruit pies and more. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., church members will serve a turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, apple salad, beverages and various deserts.  For sale will be $1 raffle tickets for prizes of $100, $200 and $500. Raffle prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m. Dinner tickets are $8 for adults and $3 for children and can be purchased at the door. Festival chairs are Matt and Kim Pflug and David and Cim Stice. 

Knoxville — St. Anthony Parish’s fall dinner will take place Nov. 7 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Turkey, ham, dressing, side dishes and homemade pies will be served. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children and free for children younger than 5. 

Melcher — Sacred Heart Parish will hold its fall dinner Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Turkey, ham, homemade noodles and more will be served. Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for children ages 5-10 and free for children younger than 5. 

Nichols — St. Mary Parish’s auction and luncheon will take place Nov. 7. A silent auction is slated for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. A regular auction follows. Parish hall doors open at 11:30 a.m. for serving of chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, sandwiches, homemade desserts and more. 

North English — St. Joseph Parish’s fall dinner is Nov. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Menu includes grilled pork, grilled chicken breast, green beans, baked potato, salads, roll, dessert and drink.  Carryout orders are available.  Freewill offerings will be accepted. There also will be a country store.

Ottumwa — St. Patrick Parish’s annual fall dinner will take place Nov. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Roasted pork loin, mashed potatoes, green beans, dressing, salad, dessert and beverages will be served. Cost is $8 for adults, $3 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and younger. Carryouts are available. 

Richmond — Holy Trinity Parish will hold its fall dinner of roast beef and pork loin Oct. 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $9 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-10. Country store items and hickory nuts will be for sale. Carryouts are available: call (319) 656-2802. 

Tipton — St. Mary Church will hold its Christmas bazaar Nov. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the parish hall, 209 Mulberry Street. There will be crafts, a cookie walk and food stand. Chicken noodle soup, chili, ham sandwiches and homemade pies will be served.
