FORT MADISON — The Catholic parishes of the Keokuk Deanery are sponsoring a workshop on annulment on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. at Ss. Mary & Joseph Church in Fort Madison. Titled “Everything you wanted to know about annulment but were afraid to ask,” the workshop is intended for anyone interested in learning about annulments in the Catholic Church.
Issues to be addressed include the Catholic Church’s teaching on marriage, the difference between an annulment and divorce, Are children considered illegitimate after an annulment?, Is divorce a sin?, the reception of the sacraments after divorce and related issues.
Workshop presenters are from the Diocese of Davenport Tribunal: Father Joseph Wolf, the judicial vicar and vice chancellor, and Teri Doran, tribunal auditor. The workshop is free and pre-registration is not required.
