The following two retreats are scheduled at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat near Wheatland.
• Come to the Quiet, a silent retreat day, Tuesday, Sept. 28, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Fee is $15, which includes lunch. Set aside your hectic pace and routine to listen to the inner needs of your heart and soul. Enjoy the beauty and silence of an autumn day at The Prairie. Pray, meditate, read, walk or just sit in the quiet beauty of The Prairie. This day is yours, but the time includes short opening and closing prayers together. Sessions with a spiritual director are available for a separate fee.
• “Knit One, Pray Too,” a day of knitting, fellowship and prayer, from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5. The fee is $15 and includes lunch. Bring size 11 or 13 knitting needles, three six-ounce skeins of yarn (or a project in progress), and join others as they create a prayer shawl, a scarf or a special gift for someone in need of comfort. Participants will knit and pray together, share “yarns” of their individual journeys, and enjoy the beauty of a fall day at The Prairie. All knitters, including beginners, women and men are welcome!
