Lillian was born Feb. 20, 1919 in Davenport, the daughter of Joseph Leo and Pauline Lillian (Lear) Kunz. She lived in the house her grandfather built on Seventh and Taylor streets. Lillian narrowly escaped death at the age of 10 as a result of being hit by a car. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy and majored in accounting from AIC Browns Business College. She was a bookkeeper for over 44 years. Lillian was employed for Ideal Plumbing, Miller Bookkeeping Agency and retired in 1983 from Werner and Werner law firm.

Lillian enjoyed bowling, softball, golf and tackle football. She was a member of the Blackhawk Hiking Club and was an avid Cubs fan.

Lillian was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Christians Mother Club. She was a very active volunteer for her church, always helping out where needed. She was famous for her funeral luncheon baked beans. Although her favorite color was red, Lillian’s favorite car was her 1968 yellow Ford Fairlane convertible. Lillian also loved dancing, traveling and practical jokes.

Survivors include her many friends and acquaintances and her adopted family of Tom, Terry and Emma Simmons.
