Sister Charla Bulko (Clarice Ann) will celebrate 50 years as a School Sister of St. Francis June 19. She was born in Milwaukee, Wis. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Alverno College in Milwaukee in 1964 and a master’s degree from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo in 1971.
Sr. Bulko has lived her religious ministry in education, pastoral care and social services in Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa. In the Diocese of Davenport, Sr. Bulko was pastoral associate at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Davenport from 1992-2005. She has been director of the domestic violence program at the Dubuque Community YMCA since 2005. She resides in Dubuque.
