The following retreats are slated at Our Lady of the Prairie Retreat near Wheatland:
• “Women of Courage: Claiming Our Ancestors” is scheduled for Wednesday, June 16, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Sister Alice Ann Byrne, OP, will present. Fee is $15, which includes lunch.
Participants will rekindle their Sisterhood with remarkable women of the Scriptures, including Sarah of Hagar, Mary of Nazareth and Mary of Magdala. Participants will recognize in the joys, tears, fears and courage of each woman, the “Woman Gifts” that allow each to step from powerlessness into freedom. Participants will look into their own stories to claim the divine heritage of their own birthright in the unfolding of God’s dream.
Target audience is women and men of all ages.
Sr. Alice Ann Byrne, OP, is a Sinsinawa Dominican educator and parish minister. For the past 20 years, she has been giving retreats and spiritual direction in Montana and Washington.
• “Modern Man in our Modern World” is slated for Saturday, June 19, 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Father Charlie Smiech, OFM, will present. Fee is $15, which includes lunch.
Remembering and learning from the outstanding men in Church history, commonly known as saints, people live today reflecting the same Christ as they did. How do they live what is theirs today for the same Christ?
Target audience is men of all faith traditions.
Fr. Smiech, a Franciscan Friar of the Province of St. John the Baptist, is an international retreat director, spiritual advisor and an itinerant preacher. He currently resides in Chicago.
