Fr. Hauser to mark jubilee

 Father Albert Hauser, a member of the Benedictine Order of Priests, will celebrate the golden jubilee of his ordination to the priesthood at a 9:30 a.m. Mass June 27 at St. John the Baptist Church in Burlington.  A reception will follow in the parish’s cafeteria.

A native of Burlington, he graduated from Burlington Catholic High School and completed this theology studies at St. Benedict’s School of Theology in Atchison, Kan. He was ordained by Archbishop Edward Hunkeler, D.D., of Kansas City, Kan., on May 26, 1960, and celebrated his first Mass at St. John’s Church on May 29 of that year.

 Following 10 years of various assignments at St. Benedict’s College (now Benedictine College), Fr. Hauser began his pastoral ministry in Kansas, served as pastor at St. John the Baptist Church in Burlington, and at various other parishes in Kansas.
