The pre-kindergarten program, taught by Kim Reinhardt, prepares older 4-year-olds or young 5-year-olds for kindergarten entrance. This full day program (8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) allows students to develop basic social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills.
Reinhardt plans weekly themed lessons that capture the students’ attention. The class just completed a lesson on pond life, and the water table was transformed into a pond.
The children enjoyed seeing the animals that live in ponds as well as the materials that make up a pond floor. The class will also be participating in a dinosaur unit, in which the children will be able to “dig” for dinosaur bones.
