IOWA CITY — A chili cook-off will take place May 29 at 5:30 p.m. in the basement of St. Wenceslaus Church, 623 Fairchild St. To enter a recipe for $10, arrive at 5 p.m. to set up. Bring at least one gallon of chili in a warmer or crock-pot. Tables and plug-ins will be provided. For those who plan to eat and vote, a $5 minimum donation is suggested. Non-competition chili will be available for those who don’t wish to vote.
Proceeds will be used to help Dr. Stephen Pallone train to become a medical consultant of the Creighton Model of Natural Family Planning at the Pope Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction in Omaha. Pallone is a member of Knights of Columbus Council 14385 at St. Wenceslaus. He will be available at the cook-off to discuss his study and goals.
