Rock Island, Ill. — A choir of 23 students from John F. Kennedy Catholic School in Davenport recently performed in the Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse performance of “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.”
Principal Chad Steimle said teacher Trish Hinchman has had a long history with Circa 21. She heard that the Rock Island dinner theater was looking for five different choirs for performances. As music teacher at JFK, she had the students try out.
Steimle noted there were height requirements and students had to look like kids and “they had to be able to sing.”
After auditions, 23 students from grades three through seven were chosen. Altogether, the JFK choir sang at six performances in March.
