CCHD seeks social justice intern

Facebooktwittermail

Are you Catholic? Interested in fighting poverty? If you are 18-30 years old, consider being an intern with the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) in the Davenport Diocese. The agency provides grants to self-help projects developed by grassroots groups of empowered poor people who are working to address the root causes of poverty in their communities. CCHD seeks to increase Catholics’ awareness of poverty in the U.S., educate about the Catholic social tradition and build bridges between poor and non-poor communities.

The internship is 16 flexible hours per week for the 2010-2011 school year. Internship is paid ($10 per hour). Required skills: willingness to learn community organizing, preferably the ability to speak Spanish, and the ability to be a good communicator, work well with a diverse population and attend June CCHD training. For more information, call Loxi Hopkins at (563) 324-1912, ext. 246.
