A $20,000 donation has been offered to Hope and Healing Ministries — if the ministry can get matching money.
Maria Bain, executive director and founder of the ministry, said following an Oct. 8 story in The Catholic Messenger, a woman offered the $20,000 donation, if Bain could get others to contribute a total of $20,000. The match does not have to come from one person, Bain noted.
“The donor said she wants to invest in the good works that Hope and Healing offers, but wants others to join in as well.
“This is a boost of energy,” Bain said. She said she has until the end of the year to get matching funds. If Hope and Healing Ministries does not get the matching grant, it likely will have to close its doors Dec. 31.
Hope and Healing Ministries offers help for those who seek healing after an abortion, sexual abuse or other wound to the mind, body or soul.
It includes Rachel’s Vineyard retreats, talks to groups and counseling.
