DAVENPORT — Raising $30,000 to help fund a Habitat for Humanity home is the goal of youth at Our Lady of Victory Parish.
The annual fundraiser will be held June 27 at the West Kimberly Hy-Vee from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and at the East 53rd Hy-Vee from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
People are encouraged to drive their cars to either site to have them washed and to make a donation. Donors may pledge money ahead of time for the fundraiser, organizers say.
If 1,500 people pledge as little as 5 cents per car and the youth wash 400 cars, they will have raised $30,000.
To make a pledge, visit www.carwashforhumanity.org, which is run by the youth.
In addition to high school youth from various parishes washing cars, middle school students have an opportunity to help as well this year.
