The pre-kindergarten program prepares older 4-year-olds or young 5-year-olds for school entrance by giving them the basic foundation and confidence needed to begin their educational journey. The students attend school daily from 8:30 am – 2:30 pm.
This year, the teacher, Kim Reinhardt, planned weekly theme-based lessons. While learning about hibernation in February, the class was greeted by a new set of animal tracks each morning and searched the room to find the hibernating animal.
During rainforest week, the reading corner was transformed into a jungle with new animals appearing daily in the plants and vines suspended from the ceiling. For community worker week, parents visited the class to describe their jobs and the equipment and school subjects they use.
