Marlene Frantz, an office manager at Regina, won this year’s Support Staff Excellence Award from the Iowa City Chamber of Commerce. Each spring, the chamber’s Excellence in Education Awards recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to educational programs in Iowa City and surrounding areas.

Marlene has been employed with Regina Junior/Senior High School for 40 years. The school said she earned the recognition through her outstanding performance and dedication. She was nominated by Barb Reilly, Regina Talented and Gifted Program coordinator.

Other Excellence in Education nominees from Regina included John Demory, Mary Pechous, Reilly, Pete Damiano, Roberta Williams, Ray Pechous and Celeste Vincent.
