Students perform a number for “Mulan Jr.”

St. Paul the Apostle students traveled back to the legendary, storytelling days of ancient China March 12-13 with the action-packed stage adaptation of Disney’s “Mulan.”

The Huns  invaded, and it was up to the misfit Mulan and her mischievous sidekick Mushu to save the emperor! “Mulan Jr.” is a heartwarming celebration of culture, honor and a fighting spirit. The score includes favorites like “Reflection,” “Honor to Us All” and “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” as well as new songs that got audience members on their feet!

The SPS (St. Paul School) Players were busy singing, dancing and memorizing like crazy to put together this wonderful production. The show involved more than 80 fifth-, sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders. These dedicated performers rehearsed every afternoon beginning Jan. 1.

In addition to the performers, many wonderful parent and parish volunteers assisted with costumes, sewing, scenery, prop collecting, fundraising and more. The school is so blessed to have such a wonderful community supporting St. Paul’s fine arts!
