Messenger has handled EWTN controversy well

Facebooktwittermail

I have barely looked at this newspaper over the last 13 years, but I have been following the EWTN discussion avidly. I think the Messenger has handled this admirably, from the printing of the original article to showing the variety of reactions to it in the letters.

The Messenger has not pretended that we all march in unison. This discussion has allowed us to look in the mirror and see how different we are. Yet we all stand in the same Communion line every Sunday. Why is that?

Now perhaps it’s time for another article from the St. Ambrose faculty on another issue.

If the Messenger continues to bring up issues and encourages this kind of open discussion on them, I might even start paying for it!
