KEOKUK — Schwan’s Foods presented Keokuk Catholic Schools Parent/Teacher Organization with a check in the amount of $539.56 on Feb. 24. Proceeds were from a “truckload sale” in the school parking lot Feb. 6.
Keokuk Catholic Schools PTO President Heather Hutcherson was amazed at the success and ease of the fundraiser. “All I had to do was let our school family know when the truck would be here. We encouraged early orders, but even drive-by traffic made purchases. This is such a blessing for us; the money we raise throughout the year benefits classrooms, guests, students and teachers. This money goes a long way to benefit Keokuk Catholic Schools.”
Schwan’s general manager Chris Yackle helped organize the event and offered advice and support. “This fundraiser is easy for groups of any size to do because organizers do not have to handle product or money. It was great to see Keokuk Catholic Schools have such great success.”
On hand during the Feb. 6 sale were Schwan’s sales reps Gary Shelley, Jeff Householder and Blaine Brocksmith operating two fully stocked Schwan’s trucks.
Hutcherson adds, “This experience was so wonderful that we are planning another sale May 1 to benefit the Keokuk Catholic Schools general fund.”
