Fish fries slated throughout diocese

Albia — Fish fries will take place Fridays during Lent from 5-7 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Carryouts are available.

Clinton — St. Edwards Council of the Knights of Columbus will hold fish fries at St. Boniface Hall, 2520 Pershing Blvd., for six Fridays, excluding Good Friday, from 4:30-7 p.m. during Lent. Carryouts are available and the public is welcome. The menu includes fried or baked fish, baked potatoes, French fries, applesauce, bread, coleslaw, hush puppies, beverages and grilled cheese sandwiches. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children 3-12. Also available will be limited servings of jumbo shrimp and side dishes for $8.

Davenport — Sacred Heart Cathedral will host fish dinners every Friday during Lent in the parish center following the 5:15 p.m. Mass. Menu includes a variety of fish each week, vegetables, pasta and/or potato dishes, soups and more. Fish sticks and macaroni and cheese are available. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children.

Davenport — St. Alphonsus fish fries will be held Feb. 27-April 3 in Klauer Cafeteria. Cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children. Menu includes fish (baked and fried), baked potato, onion rings, French fries, coleslaw and beverages.

DeWitt — St. Joseph Parish annual Lenten fish fries will be held each Friday, starting Feb. 27 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 613 10th St. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Menu includes two, whole catfish or Pollock fillets or boiled shrimp, baked potato, green beans, coleslaw, dinner roll and beverage.

Harper — Knights of Columbus will sponsor a fish fry every Friday during Lent, from Feb. 27 through April 3 at the KC Hall. The March 27 meal will be served at St. Mary Parish Hall in Sigourney. All meals will be served from 5-8 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults, $4 for children.

Iowa City — Knights of Columbus will hold fish fries Fridays during Lent from 4:30-7 p.m. at the KC Family Center, 4776 American Legion Road.  The menu includes $8 catfish and shrimp, $10 salmon, $4 spaghetti for kids and $6 spaghetti for adults.  Call (319) 341-9097 for more information.

LeClaire — Knights of Columbus will sponsor a fish fry on Good Friday at Our Lady of the River Parish. Fried fish, baked fish, grilled cheese, French fries, onion rings, baked potatoes, seafood gumbo, coleslaw, cornbread and desserts will be served. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under.

Muscatine — Fish fries will take place from 4:30-7 p.m. Fridays during Lent through April 3 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2011 Houser St. Fried fish, coleslaw, baked potatoes, macaroni and cheese, bread and desserts will be served. Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and younger.

Newton — Knights of Columbus fish fries will take place Fridays from Feb. 27 to April 3 at 5 p.m. in the McCann Center.

Pella — Knights of Columbus fish fries will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Feb. 27, March 13, 20, 27.

Tipton — The Knights of Columbus will hold fish fries March 6 and April 3 at St. Mary Parish Hall from 5-7:30 p.m. Pollock will be featured March 6; catfish will be featured April 3.

West Liberty — St. Joseph Knights of Columbus fish fries will be held March 6, 20 and April 3 from 5-7:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Parish Life Center. Cost is $8.50 for adults and $4 for those under age 13.

Williamsburg — St. Mary Altar & Rosary Society is sponsoring a fish fry Feb. 27 from 5-7 p.m. at St. Mary Parish Community Center. Menu includes cod, potato casserole, corn, coleslaw, dinner rolls, dessert and drink. Freewill offerings will be accepted.
