Wonderful, wonderful start to the morning. It’s just 70 degrees now, still feeling miraculous after all those days of almost unbearable heat this summer.
I take my prayers and my coffee and go outside. The neighbor dog, Roxie, and I just sit on the front porch and take it all in. Blue skies, white clouds, green trees.
Blessed quiet.
The traditional blessing before meals seems a most fitting prayer for this beautiful day, now beginning: “Bless us, o Lord, and these thy gifts, which we are about to receive from thy bounty, through Christ Our Lord. Amen.”
