Dcn. Boboth served in Davenport

DAVENPORT — Deacon Al Boboth, 84, died Feb. 9.

Born March 18, 1941, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, to Albert J. and Mary Boboth, he graduated from McKeesport Vocational High School in the commercial art program. He completed a two-year drafting and design curriculum at the Penn State Campus in McKeesport.

On Feb. 16, 1963, he married Sue Domer at Our Lady of Czestochowa in McKeesport. Together they raised four children.

Boboth worked in the design department at Alcoa in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and was transferred to Davenport in 1984. He retired from there in 2002 after 32 years of service.

He was ordained to the permanent diaconate by Bishop William Franklin on June 8, 2002, at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Davenport and served as a deacon at Our Lady of Victory Parish in Davenport.

He is survived by his wife and children Cindy (Paul) of Port Vue, Pennsylvania, Paul (Kelly) of Davenport, Elaine (Mike) Moeller of Davenport and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty, and his parents.

His funeral was held Feb. 13 at Our Lady of Victory Parish. Burial followed at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Davenport.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made for Masses to be offered for Deacon Boboth or Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
