An addition connecting St. James School, left, and church, right, is slated to be completed this summer.

The building of a new parish gathering center commenced in summer 2008 with a groundbreaking ceremony followed by a parish picnic attended by Bishop Martin Amos.

The building project has since progressed to connect the church and the school and will result in a common gathering space complete with kitchen facilities, new school and parish offices, increased classroom space, a meeting room, a tutor room, a nurse’s office, additional restrooms, a church youth room and a basement.

Projected completion date is this summer, with classroom space being the project’s final step.
