Obama should truly step up for children

On Father’s Day an article by President Barack Obama appeared in Parade magazine in the Quad-City Times. It was entitled “We need fathers to step up.” For the most part it was filled with lofty, inspiring words.

However, one paragraph caught my attention: “That is why we need fathers to step up, to realize that their job does not end at conception, that what makes you a man is not the ability to have a child but the courage to raise one.”

I submit that President Obama does not practice what he preaches. He talks of the life of a child beginning at “conception” and challenges men to have the courage to raise that child. But in reality, he does not uphold the sanctity of life. He believes death to their child is a choice a father and mother can make. He is a pro-abortion advocate all the way. He has proved that time and again by his campaign promises, his speeches, the laws he is promoting and the people he has chosen to be in his inner circle.

He is president of the “United States;” shouldn’t he be protecting all of his people including the babies in the womb? There is no middle ground on the abortion issue. You can’t say one thing and then do another. You are either for life or for death!
