Thanks for defending the Catholic Church

Facebooktwittermail

In light of the opinion page in the Feb. 9 edition of The Catholic Messenger, I’d like to use this forum to say publically what I have thought privately for the past two weeks.

I’d like to say a public thank you to Bishop Martin Amos for the letter that he had read in each of our parishes, along with a public thank you to all of the bishops across the country who did the same thing.  How long we have heard publically how lax our bishops are from people complaining about the bishops’ lack of leadership. How good it is to have the bishops now speaking publically, and yes, from the pulpit, about matters of faith and morals.

I’d also like to thank our priests who are also leading us. Father Robert Barron’s columns that have been featured in The Messenger have been a very welcome addition to the paper. His defense of the Catholic Church Feb. 9, along with that of Frank Wessling, were very much appreciated.
