DAVENPORT — St. Ambrose University Children’s Campus has received a $3,344 grant from Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Quad Cities. The money will be used for enhancements of the Children’s Campus nature explore classroom, an outdoor classroom incorporating the natural world as an integral part of learning.

The Children’s Campus has the only certified nature explore classroom in the area and is one of only a handful in Iowa to have earned this Arbor Day Foundation distinction.

For the past 18 years Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Quad Cities has provided more than $45,000 in grants to the Children’s Campus for children with disabilities, as well as all children served at the campus. This year’s grant will provide for storage and nesting tables for the outdoor classroom, as well as an inside grow light system and related learning curriculums.
