Project Renewal will sponsor its annual Fit-Fest April 26 from 9-11 a.m. at Sister Concetta Park in Davenport. The event includes an obstacle course with 10 challenges to complete with a partner. Volunteer adult partners will be provided if needed. Additional activities include Zumba, cornhole/bean bag toss, golf putting, a bounce house and refreshments. Proceeds from Fit-Fest support Project Renewal’s summer youth program.

For 50 years, Project Renewal has been working to make a difference in the inner-city neighborhood where it is located. “We have been keeping youth engaged with a variety of activities for youth development — academic support, mentoring and building life skills, socialization and friendship building, decreasing screen time with active play and personal growth while having fun and exploring their own interests and our surrounding community,” said Ann Schwickerath, director of Project Renewal. “This increases their capacity for learning, teamwork, problem solving, self-awareness, etc.”

For more information, visit www.projectrenewal.net or call 563-324-0800. To register, sign up online at www.getmeregistered.com and type “Project Renewal” in the search bar. Cost is $20 for ages 13 and older; free for 12 and under.
